did anyone see those leaked texts between fox news hosts where they basically admit what they’re saying is bullshit and even complain about the people they defend on tv? truly a world we live in
this is an important reminder that you won’t win any battle with these people by debating them or quote tweeting them on social media. they know what they’re doing is wrong and harmful, they just don’t care because it’s profitable.
EXTRA EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT! FOX NEWS IS A BITCH, WHO KNEW!

Fantasy idea:
Goblins do not have a concept of personal property or privacy. They’re often labelled simply as thieves, but they genuinely do not understand why a group of travellers would be upset by waking up to someone rummaging through their camp to see what they’ll find, pocketing whatever looks cool, and eating their rations. A goblin feels perfectly fine walking into another goblin’s house to do so.
They will also tell you everything about themselves to introduce themselves. Not only their name and where they live, but also what they do for a living, how many spouses and children they have, their parents and siblings’ names, what they have done with their lives and who their best friends are. A particularly accomplished goblin can and will take 20-30 minutes to fully introduce themselves.
Travellers who manage to start a polite conversation with a goblin instead of immediately resorting to violence to defend their property will soon - to their great confusion - be invited to the goblin’s home to meet their family and be welcome to stay as long as they need. This might feel strange to them, but deep down it’s a cultural misunderstanding.
The goblin list of things to include in one’s long introductions isn’t a standardised list, but goblins have a general idea of what they expect to hear in them. They don’t have a concept of private information any more than they have genuinely private property, and if someone’s list doesn’t involve spouses and children, that can only mean that they don’t have any. If a goblin won’t say where they live, that means they don’t have a home. If they don’t list who their friends are, that can only mean they don’t have any friends.
If a traveller only introduces themselves with their name, perhaps profession, and “this is my stuff”, then naturally that must be all that they have in the world. If they had friends, family, or anything else in life, obviously they would have said so. How horrible that someone doesn’t have anything but a name. And if you won’t tell them your name they’ll assume you don’t have one of those, either.

Plus, you know. You can’t really give Luigi strep throat
Studies have shown that active distractions like video games can lower pain and discomfort better than passive distractions like watching tv
If you’re feeling well enough to play video games then you can use it as a symptom reducer just like we use cold medicine to make us feel better so we can relax
i think a lot about how in the past women/afab people disguised themselves as men and lived for years undetected (in all-male workplaces!!) because it really drives home the point that there is so much natural variation in human bodies that would enable somebody to believably do this. like not only is it natural for men to be very short but it’s also natural for them to have high voices, it’s natural for women to be tall, built, and masculine, and the fact that people in the past just rolled with it like “he has dainty hands and that’s none of my business” gives me some type of jealousy. people have gotten way too comfortable deciding what traits are normal for what sex. i think we all need to mind our business more.
I loved all of the celebrity cameos and name-dropping in Glass Onion, but the more I think about it, the more I realize how it plays into the characterization of Miles and Blanc.
Miles keeps mentioning how he has hired people like Gillian Flynn, Philip Glass, Banksy, etc. to create things for him. And we get to see how Serena Williams is on-call as a personal trainer for his guests. But…
When Blanc quickly solved the mystery game Miles had set up, my first thought was that it was really contrived and not well-crafted. The Hourly Dong was minimalistic, yes, but not Glass-like. As for the Piece-of-Shit dock, it didn’t seem very Bansky-ish (at least to me). It looked more like a generic ice sculpture than anything - interesting at first glance, but not really much beyond that.
Then, we have Serena Williams literally phoning it in as a personal trainer. She’s content to sit there and read, as she’s getting paid whether or not she actually does any training.
Miles is quick to drop these names as if all of these talented people are part of his entourage, but the quality of their work-for-hire demonstrates that they don’t give a shit about him and/or actively dislike him.
In sharp contrast, we have Blanc, who is actually close friends with people like Angela Lansbury, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, etc. These people are close enough to him to play online games with him and worry about his well-being. In fact, they’re good enough friends that Blanc’s partner can complain to them about how Blanc hasn’t left the bath for a week.
All in all, it’s a little thing in the grand scheme of the movie, but it does show just how much thought has gone into the characterization of the two male leads.
